Arrival and registration

It was a bit difficult to get to know who the transport system work in Stockholm, especially the bus tickets. Also, the direction for Pax (one of the student dorms) on UAC website was not correct and it took me a long time to find it.

The introduction day was very informative and interesting. It almost answered all of my questions and especially the session about culture differences was fun!

I didn't contact with student health center.

Acommendation

The accommodation condition is very good and the transport is convenient. The only problem is the rent is a bit expensive to me and the cleaning inspection after checkout was very strict, which I think is a bit unreasonable (especially the deposit would be charged).

I applied through UAC and the service was good I think.

The cost for transport and food is also quite expensive.

Leisure time and social activities

I have participated some activities arranged by global friends. They are nice and I got to know many people during the activities. The information was always available through email. Yes I have made swedish friends, but mostly during study in class.

Pre-departure

It is a great experience to go on exchange during undergraduate study. I could have quite different learning experiences and get to know much more fellows in my study area. Also, the different culture and environment oversea is also something attracted me.

KI is known for its excellent academic atmosphere and the culture and environment in Sweden is so different from Asian culture. Also, the study program in KI is similar to my own biology program in my home university. In addition, anything related to nobel prize is a big attraction to me in stockholm.

I think the exchange information are quite detailed given by KI and my home university.

No, no certificate for vaccination was required.

Courses during the exchange period

1BI011 : BACH-Molecular oncology and biostatistics
This is the best course I have ever had. The contents are a lot but very well organized. The interaction between students and teachers are great, and the integration of clinical aspects are invaluable. The exam was good, which only requires big pictures and principles instead of details. The course is relevant to my degree. The coordinator is really nice and helpful.
1BI012 : BACH-Molecular medicine
The contents are really a lot and in different aspects. I feel like having several different subjects at the same time. The research application was really fun and informative. The degree is relevant to my degree.

Summary

It was an memorable and excellent experience to exchange in KI. I definitely would recommend it to all my friends.

Language and Culture

I participated in the beginners Swedish language course.
It was fun and I learned some basic Swedish, but I think it could be more organized and apparently the students are not on the same level (because some of their native languages are similar to swedish), therefore it would be difficult to arrange the progress.Language

Studies in general

The study environment in KI is excellent. The contents are much more fun and well organized. The interaction between students and teachers/patients are much more than I previously experienced. Many theories we learned during the courses were well-applied to patient interviews we had.

The differences between KI and my home university are mainly the number of students (which is much more in NTU), interactions between teachers and students, and the time spent in class (much more in KI). I think they are all quite good qualities for university study in KI.
