Accommendation

Accommodation was at a pre-booked hotel through the hosting university.  To keep the costs cheaper they chose a nice but cheaper hotel about 6km from the city center where the teaching was conducted. It was a fantastic idea to use a rented bike to travel forth and back from and to the hotel in addition to doing extra biking in the evenings. We could then avoid many daily transportation costs
.

Language and Culture

The teaching was in English, the Danish have their own way to work and have fun without losing the professional attitude.

Leisure time

An Evening Mingle was arranged by the hosting university

An evening long walk across the city of Hirshall/ Denmark where the event took place
Dinner

Miscellaneous

I do have an interest to go on a similar teacher exchange during next summer 2013.

Other activities

We made a study visit to dairy factory. There were two meetings with the partner university teacher for future collaboration.

Preparation

There was an early planning for this exchange since summer last year. There was a continuous e-mail contact with the hosting university for preparing  for the exchange.

Reflections

The hosting university, Aalborg University, did its best for making the event, beneficial, successful and joyful. The university is running an interesting research program on nutrition and food, which is certainly of interest for us at Karolinska Institutet.

Teaching

Most of the teaching activity is to facilitate the group work.

Teaching hours

The teaching hours were in total about 45 hours during 8 days.
