I was lucky enough to have a family friend in Stockholm so I did not rely on KI for any arrival arrangements. I was unhappy however that my room in residence was only available 10 days after I arrived in Stockholm and furthermore it was available after the introduction day. I had no contact with the student health centre during my whole stay in Stockholm, the one time I was sick I went to an emergency room in the city.
My housing was arranged through KI and I was placed in Jägargatan, a residence in Södermalm. I really enjoyed my experience there and I liked the location a lot. The rent for my room was not very much at all and the standard of living was very high. I had a great time living there.
I chose to go on exchange because it was a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, study at a different institution, and experience a different country and culture. I chose KI because I speak swedish and I thought that that would make the transition easier and I would be able to experience the city more authentically. The information provided by KI was very good although I had some confusion with understanding which courses were available to me. Ultimately, by being in touch with the coordinators through e-mail I was able to sort everything out before arriving in Stockholm.
BIOX07 : BACH - Neuroscience
This was my favourite course. Great material and great instruction. The professors were very approachable and knowledgable.
BIOX09 : BACH - Pharmacology and Toxicology
The quality of this course is very high and the information very intersting. Great practical component as well.
BIOX08 : BACH - Tissue Biology
A short and intense course but you will learn a lot. The content is condensed but interesting.
My experience of the classes and the studies at KI were very positive. I enjoyed my classmates and the professors, everyone was friendly and approachable. There was a good relationship between student and teacher. At my home university we had more homework and more studies to do, however, I found that the quality of information being taught and retained was roughly the same.
