Arrival and registration

I did not partake in the introduction day, but my arrival was uneventful.  I met with Magdalena the day I arrived, and she gave me all the necessary instructions for what else I needed to do.

Acommendation

I love Jagargatan aka the Jagsss!  I like that we're placed with other international students.  It makes meeting people a lot easier.  People are very social here.  I have absolutely loved Jagar.  Honestly, living in Jagargatan was probably the highlight of my time here.

Yes, I applied through UAC (I think?).  It was the KI housing website.

Leisure time and social activities

I did not make any Swedish friends, but I made friends with a lot of international students at Jagargatan.  I loved that experience.  Will have many fond memories of this place many years from now.

Pre-departure

I chose to study at KI because I had visited Stockholm once before and thoroughly enjoyed my time there.  When I found out that my medical school in the USA had an exchange program with KI, I knew I wanted to go.

I found the exchange information helpful.  That said, you just got to do your own research on this stuff!

Courses during the exchange period

ELA005 : Internal Medicine 1
I did dermatology not medicine, but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Only drawback was that it was basically all in Swedish which made it difficult at times.

Summary

I had a fantastic experience here.  I would strongly recommend to friends!

Language and Culture

I did not participate in any Swedish language courses--was only here 4 weeks.

Studies in general

I did dermatology. (NOT medicine as indicated below) I found the attendings and housestaff to be extremely friendly and down-to-earth, which is something you do not always find in the USA!

1 suggestion I would have: they should recommend 1-2 resources to read throughout the month.
