Accommendation

I am so satisfied with the accommodation except some noise caused by the building site nearby.

Language and Culture

English, not many barriers.

Leisure time

I  took part in a boat trip in the weekend which was arranged by KI, as part of the introduction to the curricular course in Clinical Medicine - Surgery. No suggestions, no links.

Miscellaneous

IT  IS  QUITE  NICE!

Other activities

I took part in the 21th MAYO-Karolinska Institutet sessions in education. I wish I could visit KI again to join the session between KI  and my college.

Preparation

I got to know about this opportunity through my medical college at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Exactly, I did little preparation for this exchange except some language practising.

Reflections

No matter personally or as a teacher, I was greatly influenced by  this program. As a result, I will change my teaching skills, especially in creating a more open and active atmosphere and do more E-teaching.

Teaching

I am sure that it has no great difference in teaching activity, because the trend is E-teaching. So students from anywhere can learn what they want by internet. But I have to say at Karolinska Institutet, the E-teaching is better. I joined some lectures, seminars here. The atmosphere is more open and active in Karolinska Institutet, maybe the charactor different in East and West. I also watched a small outpatient operation. The patients I met here in Sweden are more nice thanin Shanghai.

Teaching hours

25 H / week: 40% ,20%,40%

40% lessons/seminars (% of total hours);

20% individual supervision/bedside teaching (% of total hours)
